structure and managment

The drier-filter is also known as filter-tank.
When the liquefied gas returns to its gas form, it crosses the drier-filter which serves at once as cooling liquid tank, moisture extractor and filter.
There is often a sight feed glass to check the quality of the liquefied gas.
Structure and managment.

localization

Behind the rightside headlamp assembly.
The upper part of the filter-tank is in full view.

vehicle conditioning

Lift and secure the vehicle front (front/right wheel hanging).

general instruction

Disconnect the battery.
Empty the gas cooling circuit through the reload equipment.
Put caps on the ducts right after disconnection, to avoid any dust and moisture pollution.

periphery withdrawal

Disconnect :
  • A1 the cooling gas ducts of the filter-tank.
Lift and secure the vehicle front (front/right wheel hanging).
Remove :
  • The 4 screws attaching the wheel arch shield.
Fold :
  • The wheel arch cover.

demounting the component

Remove :
  • The 2 screws C4 attaching the drier-filter-tank.
  • The drier-filter-tank downwards.

reassembly

Proceed reversing the order of the removal.
Use :
  • A new filtering element.
Do not open the filter packaging until the last minute before installing it.

pressures/temperature

general instruction

Engine runing.
A-C runing.
Interior filter in full shape (if equipped).
A-C controls position.
Air distribution : front air vent.
Interior air distribution : recirculation.
Air temperature in the interior : maximum cold.
Ventilation speed : maxi.

particular instruction

Engine bonnet closed.
Hot engine (after one engagement of the motor-driven fan).
A-C runing for at least 15 minutes.
Doors and windows closed.

control

Connect the inspection equipment to the high and low pressure couplings.
Keep the engine speed at 1500 rpm.
Read the pressures as soon as stabilization occurs.
The readings should be in line with the reference values.
